ABOUT Chalet Blacklodge

Nestled in the prestigious Courchevel 1850, Black Lodge emerges as a sanctuary of luxury and sustainability, redefining the essence of a private ski resort. With a sprawling 875 square meters of living space, this lodge is meticulously designed to accommodate up to 14 guests across seven opulent rooms, each promising an unparalleled stay starting from 2024.

Black Lodge stands as a testament to modern luxury, where every detail is crafted to enhance the guest experience. The lodge is not just a place to stay; it’s an invitation to indulge in a world where refined design converges with exceptional service. This sustainable ski-in ski-out lodge boasts spacious living areas that flow seamlessly into bedrooms, ensuring direct access to the exhilarating ski slopes. An entire floor dedicated to leisure – including a swimming pool, massage area, sauna, hammam, entertainment room, and a gym – ensures that relaxation and entertainment are always within reach.

The service at Black Lodge is nothing short of five-star. A dedicated team of five multilingual staff, available round-the-clock, includes a butler to organize every aspect of your stay, a chef with Michelin-star experience to delight your palate, and a chauffeur to navigate the chic locales of Courchevel. Additional staff ensure that the lodge remains pristine throughout your stay.

Architecturally, Black Lodge is a marvel. The top floor hosts a majestic living area, complete with a fireplace and panoramic mountain views, a dining room, and a large balcony perfect for enjoying gourmet meals. The design, spearheaded by the Parisian studio Just’in Design, marries sleek modernity with the warmth of classic chalets, utilizing noble materials and a palette of neutral and soft tones to highlight the surrounding natural beauty.

Externally, Black Lodge stands in harmonious contrast to its Alpine backdrop, featuring dark slate roofing and charred wood walls, a nod to the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique. This unique aesthetic not only enhances its visual appeal but also underscores the lodge’s commitment to sustainability.

At the heart of Black Lodge’s philosophy is its ecological footprint. Designed by architect Maxime Gilbert, the lodge employs cutting-edge sustainable technologies, including geothermal heating and solar panels, to minimize its environmental impact. Triple-glazed windows and superior insulation techniques ensure energy efficiency, while a charging station for electric vehicles and the use of an electric Mercedes EQV300 for guest transport echo the lodge’s dedication to green living.

Black Lodge is more than a luxury destination; it’s a pioneering example of how opulence and environmental stewardship can coexist. It represents a unique blend of sophistication, comfort, and sustainability, offering guests an extraordinary experience in the French Alps.
