Some of the best weeks in the mountains are the ones spent together: several families sharing a roof, three generations under one, or a large group of friends who have skied together for years. For those trips, the size and layout of the chalet matters as much as the skiing itself. Courchevel is home to some of the largest and most impressive private chalets in the Alps, residences that sleep sixteen, eighteen or even twenty-two guests without ever feeling crowded, with the staff, the space and the layout to make a big group feel effortless.
The pleasure of a group trip is in the time spent together, over long dinners, lazy breakfasts and evenings by the fire, balanced with room to slip away when you want a quieter moment. Below are some of the largest chalets in our collection, chosen for their generous proportions, their bedroom counts and their ability to bring everyone together.

One large chalet, or several together?
For the very largest parties, there are two approaches. A single grand chalet keeps everyone under one roof, which is often the priority for a milestone birthday or a family Christmas. Alternatively, adjoining or neighbouring chalets, such as Bordeaux and Barolo, give each family a degree of privacy while sharing meals and ski days. We can advise on which suits your group, and arrange both where a single property cannot take everyone.
What to consider for a large group
When booking for a big party, bedroom configuration is everything. Look for a balance of grand doubles and flexible twins, ideally a children’s bunk room, and ensuite bathrooms throughout to keep mornings calm. Generous, connected living and dining spaces matter just as much, and a dedicated team, including a private chef and chalet manager, is what makes catering for sixteen or more feel effortless rather than logistical.
Planning a group ski holiday
The largest chalets are the scarcest and the first to be reserved, especially for Christmas, New Year and the February school holidays, often a year ahead.
