The Courchevel Luxury Guide

Courchevel Luxury Guide

Our Courchevel luxury guide introduces one of the world’s most renowned ski resorts, located in the French Alps. Made up of four interconnected valleys, each with its own unique character, this Courchevel luxury guide shows you the very best of them all. Here, we’ll take a look at each of these valleys and what they have to offer.

Courchevel 1850

The pinnacle of Alpine glamour

Courchevel 1850 is the jewel of the resort and one of the most glamorous addresses in the Alps. At its heart you will find the finest gathering of designer boutiques, Michelin-starred tables and elegant after-ski scenes anywhere in the mountains, all just moments from the pistes. The grandest chalets look out over the valley from its slopes, and the skiing spreads directly from the door across runs for every level. For those who want the very best of everything within easy reach, there is no equal.

Courchevel 1650

The village the sun never leaves

Courchevel 1650, or Moriond, is the sunniest of the villages, turned to the south and bathed in light throughout the day. Calmer than 1850 yet wanting for nothing, it is a warm and welcoming choice for families and less experienced skiers, with gentle slopes rolling straight into the village and a fine handful of restaurants and shops. Here the pace softens without any loss of comfort, and the whole ski area remains a lift away.

Courchevel 1550

Quiet, connected, close to it all

Courchevel 1550 is the village at its most traditional and unhurried, with a genuine Alpine feel and a quiet, well-connected charm. A short lift from the glamour of 1850 yet a world calmer, it rewards those who value space and tranquillity over crowds, and offers a considered selection of accommodation, including some beautiful chalets. The entire mountain unfolds from the doorstep, with the bustle kept comfortably at arm’s length.

The soul of old Courchevel

Courchevel Le Praz (1300) is the resort at its most authentic, a small village of old wood and woodsmoke gathered around a lake at the foot of the valley. Traditional Savoyard chalets, intimate restaurants and historic sites, among them a sixteenth-century church, give it a timeless, rustic charm found nowhere else on the mountain. The Olympic ski jump and the Verdons gondola keep the slopes of Les Trois Vallees close, so its calm comes without compromise.

The 3 Vallees

But our Courchevel luxury guide is about far more than the villages. In this Courchevel luxury guide, the ski slopes and mountain scenery are what really draw visitors to the area. The resort has a total of 600 kilometers of ski runs, with something for every level of skier. From gentle beginner slopes to steep black diamond runs, Courchevel has it all.

The resort is also known for its stunning mountain views. Visitors can take a cable car up to the top of Saulire Peak, where they can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. There are also a number of other outdoor activities available in the area, including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and hiking.

But Courchevel is not the only valley worth exploring in the area. The resort is also connected to three other valleys: Meribel, Val Thorens, and Les Menuires.

Meribel

The green heart of the Three Valleys

Meribel is another popular ski resort, located just a short distance from Courchevel. It offers visitors a range of ski runs, as well as a number of charming villages and towns to explore.

Val Thorens

The roof of Europe

Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe and offers some of the most challenging ski runs in the area. It’s a popular destination for serious skiers and snowboarders.

Les Menuires

Les Menuires is a family-friendly ski resort with a range of activities and amenities for visitors of all ages. It’s a great choice for those who want to avoid the crowds and enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere.
