Chambéry Airport: The Closest by Distance
Chambéry is technically the nearest airport to Courchevel, around 110km away with a transfer time of roughly an hour and a half — the shortest road journey of any option. Its drawback is limited scheduled flights outside the main winter charter season, so it’s worth checking route availability for your specific dates before booking around it.
Lyon Airport: A Practical Alternative
Lyon sits around 187km from Courchevel, with transfer times of roughly two to two and a half hours. It has good year-round flight connections and can be a sensible choice when Geneva or Chambéry don’t line up with your travel dates.
Flying Directly to Courchevel Altiport
Courchevel has its own small mountain airport, the Altiport, known for its short, steeply angled runway. It handles private and charter aircraft rather than commercial flights, and for guests arriving this way it removes the road transfer almost entirely — you can be at your chalet within minutes of landing.
Helicopter Transfers
For those short on time, a helicopter transfer from Geneva cuts the two-and-a-half to three-hour road journey down to around 30–35 minutes in the air, landing at the Altiport. It’s a popular option for guests arriving on a tight schedule or simply wanting to start the holiday the moment they land.
