December: Season Opening and Early Racing
The season opens on 4 December 2026, with the full Three Valleys lift network connected from 5 December. Ski racing fans should note a FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup slalom event scheduled in Courchevel on 22 December 2026, a good excuse to combine world-class racing with the start of the festive season.
Christmas and New Year
The busiest and most festive fortnight of the year, with the village at its most decorated and lively. This is also when the Courchevel Pyrotechnic Festival returns, an internationally themed fireworks and pyrotechnics display that’s become one of the resort’s signature events. January: Ski Mountaineering and Night Racing
Courchevel hosts the second stage of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup on 15-16 January 2027, with a Sprint event on the 15th and a Vertical Race on the 16th — a discipline set to make its Olympic debut, and a great spectacle for anyone staying nearby.
Throughout the season, from December to February, one evening a week Courchevel Le Praz hosts the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel, a night-time ski mountaineering race lighting up the 3.2km course between Le Praz and Courchevel 1850 — worth timing a dinner in Le Praz around if you’re staying nearby.
February: School Holidays
February half-term is the second major peak of the season across France and the UK, and the village is at its busiest on the slopes even without a headline event. Book well ahead if you’re planning to travel during this window.
March and April: Quieter Slopes, Longer Days
With the main holiday peaks behind it, late season offers longer daylight hours, reliably good spring snow at altitude, and noticeably lower chalet rates. The season typically closes in mid-April, so this is also your last chance for a full Three Valleys ski day before the lifts shut for summer.
