How Season Affects the Price
Christmas and New Year is the most expensive week of the year by some distance, followed closely by February half-term. Rates can drop by 30–50% in January and again from mid-March onwards, making early or late season a smart way to experience the same chalet for meaningfully less.
Getting the Most from Your Budget
If service matters most, prioritise a fully catered chalet in a smaller village over a self-catered one in 1850 — you’ll often get better value staff and space for the same money. If ski-in ski-out access is the priority, be prepared to pay a premium no matter which week you travel. And if budget is the main constraint, shifting your dates by even a week outside the Christmas and February peaks can make a meaningful difference.
